Celebrating World Environment Day 2019

Falling on the 5th of June, World Environment Day is an event run by the United Nations to spread awareness about important environmental topics. This year, the event is being hosted in China, with a particular focus on the issue of air pollution. China is an ideal host for this prestigious event, being a front runner in promoting the use of electric cars and buses to counteract pollution.

Air pollution is capable of travelling incredibly long distances, not only affecting your personal health but the health of the planet too. With 9/10 people continuously breathing polluted air, and 7 million premature deaths occurring a year due to air pollution, the time is now to begin tackling this heavily important subject.

There are several ways you can get involved in the day, whether you are an individual or a business. Even making small changes in your day to day life all goes a long way to contributing, such as reducing your household electricity consumption.

The most poignant campaign they are running is a social media initiative, encouraging everyone to wear masks for a day. This makes a visually impactful statement, demonstrating to authorities that we are not happy with breathing polluted air.

Ductbusters have been providing you clean, quality air since 1996. Specialising in a range of ventilation systems for organisations such as fast food and hospitals, it is our aim to ensure that what you are breathing in is safe and healthy.
